"Cusine sans Frontiéres" - "kitchen without borders" is a non-profit organization and starts up restaurants in crisis and conflict areas. The idea is that food unites and that restaurants should be neutral meeting places in chaotic areas.
The Calabash restaurant is located between the Pokot and Turkana tribes in northeastern Kenya. For many generations, these tribes have been in conflict over control of pastures and water sources, and shepherds never graze their livestock without being armed. David Höner, the founder of the organization, prepare a stew four the opening ceremony.
