The world's second largest film industry is called Nollywood and is located in Nigeria. In May 2009, UNESCO ranked the Nigerian film industry Nollywood as the second largest in the world, making almost twice as many movies per year as Hollywood. Through low-budget, one-week productions made directly for the VHS and VCD-market, Nollywood took Africa with storm. After two rough years fighting piracy and declining movie quality, optimism is once again thriving in Lagos.The industry has become the country's second largest employer and recast many foreigners view of the country. The estimated market value of 250 million U.S. dollars is said to also be only a fraction of Nollywoods potential. That is was film-makers in Lagos now try to prove.
